Note: This quick list is not exhaustive, and I’m not endorsing or being paid any affiliate fee. I was asked for a list of tools and decided to add it to the website for anyone needing it.
Let me start by making it abundantly clear that AI must not be used to write the final copy of any web content. The best use is to assist with ideas, drafts, and outlines. The final and published copy should never be the work of AI.
There are a number of AI content creation tools that can be used to help develop website pages and blog posts that are “on brand.”
Some of the most popular tools include:
- Jasper.ai is a tool that can generate text, images, and videos. It is known for its ability to produce high-quality content that is on brand and writes content that needs some human editing and enrichment. However, it is coherent and makes sense, unlike some content generators we’ve tried.
- Copysmith can generate text, images, and videos. It is known for its ability to produce high-quality content that is on brand.
- Grammarly can help you improve your writing. It can be used to check for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors. It can also help you improve your writing style and make sure that your content is on brand and now has an AI tool; however, it leaves much to be desired at this time.
- Wordtune can help you improve your writing. It can suggest alternative words and phrases to make your writing more clear and concise. It can also help you improve your writing style and make sure that your content is on brand.
- Paragraph AI is another tool that can help you improve your writing. It can suggest alternative paragraphs to make your writing more engaging and persuasive. It too can help you improve your writing style and make sure that your content is on brand.
- Copy.ai can help you generate content, including blog posts, website pages, and social media posts.
- Peppertype.ai is a tool that can help you generate content, including blog posts, website pages, and social media posts.
- Surfer SEO is a tool that can help you optimize your content for search engines but doesn’t write content. It can suggest keywords and phrases to use in your content to make it more visible in search results.
- Outranking, like Surfer SEO, can help you optimize your content for search engines. It can suggest keywords and phrases to use in your content to make it more visible in search results.
- Askyourpdf is a tool that allows you to upload a PDF and produce content by asking questions.
- SEMrush (we use this) is a tool that analyses your content, recommends keywords and phrases, rates your tone of voice and readability, rewrites content for you, and provides an AI content writing tool called ContentShake (still not great).
- Rytr is an AI writing assistant that helps you create specific types of content in just a few seconds.
- With WordHero, you can create original blog posts, social media content, emails, and more – in just seconds.
- ChatGPT is, of course, the most popular. It can write content for any platform and even create tables like the two tables below written by ChatGPT. As you will see, the first table didn’t produce what it was supposed to produce, so I had to tell it what it got wrong to produce what I asked it to create. It doesn’t always get it right on the first try.
Here’s a table showcasing various AI tools designed to assist in content writing for websites and social media. It includes their unique selling points and estimated costs. It is important to note that no AI content creation tool is perfect. Some tools may be better at generating content that is on brand than others. It is also important to remember that AI content creation tools should not be used to replace human thought and originality. Human creativity is still essential for creating content that is engaging and effective.
When choosing an AI content creation tool, it is important to consider the following factors:
- The type of content you need to create. Different tools are better suited for different types of content. For example, some tools are better at generating blog posts, while others are better at generating social media posts.
- The budget you have often dictates the tools you use. AI content creation tools can range in price from free to hundreds of dollars per month.
- Features you need. Different tools offer different features. Some tools allow you to control the tone and style of the content, while others do not.
- Ease of use. AI content creation tools can be complex to use. Look through the software’s guide to help you decide which will fit your skill level.
Learning to use AI prompts that your AI software understands and that produces the highest quality output takes time, practice, and patience.
Once you have considered these factors, you can start to narrow down your choices. It is a good idea to try out a few different tools before you decide which one to use. Most have a free trial or a limited free version.
I hope this list helps get you started and helps you with building your writing muscle. If you have any questions or need help, please let us know.

This post was created in May; since then, there have been many more tools and, mostly, advancements. Sometimes, Chat-GPT-3 can act like it’s been binge drinking (it has been learning from humans), but if you can give it a pass for the day, it usually sober up. GPT-4 is slightly better, but not much.
Si Quan Ong at Ahrefs published the post below with some good updates on AI tools and some comparisons of the output from the top recommended AI tools, according to AI.
